The Idaho Supreme Court has rejected a waiver that would have allowed Concordia University School of Law’s inaugural class to sit for the state bar examination before the school wins provisional accreditation from the American Bar Association.

The move means the law school has about a year to secure the ABA’s provisional blessing if those 45 students are to be eligible to sit for the exam in July 2015. The court said it historically has granted exam waivers only under narrow circumstances, such as when applicants with years of experience in other jurisdictions request one.
