Most universities strive for diversity on campus. Duke University general counsel Pamela Bernard has worked hard to make sure the school’s legal department reflects that goal.
At Duke, more than half of the attorneys in the 15-lawyer legal department are women and three are African-American. All do work of “partner-level quality,” Bernard said.
