Lawyering Up: Texas Governor Rick Perry assembled a five-lawyer team to lead his defense against charges of abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant. He’s tapped a trio of well-known Texas lawyers – Tony Buzbee, former Texas Supreme Court Chief Justice Tom Phillips and criminal defense attorney David Botsford – plus McDermott Will & Emery partner Bobby Burchfield and Jones Day partner Benjamin Ginsberg, Texas Lawyer reports.

Exodus: A team of 23 lawyers in the Middle East, including five partners, has exited Squire Patton Boggs, Legal Business reports. The legacy Middle East practice of Squire Sanders, which includes offices in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Kuwait, departs just two years after El-Khoury & Partners, run by corporate partner Ziad El-Khoury, joined the firm after an affiliation that began in 2006.
