The two years that Latham & Watkins partner Jonathan Su spent in the White House Counsel’s Office provided him with crash courses in politics, media relations and crisis management — excellent preparation, he said, for his white-collar defense and investigations practice.
Su’s work at the White House included congressional investigations, nominations and the review of executive-clemency petitions. Su previously spent six years as an assistant U.S. attorney in Maryland. His victories included securing guilty verdicts in 2011 in a $70 million Ponzi scheme targeting homeowners. Su has established a robust practice since joining Latham in April 2014, including pro bono matters. — Zoe Tillman
