Jennifer Safavian understands it’s anything but simple to simplify the tax code. She played a key role in creating the latest draft of The Tax Reform Act of 2014, a 979-page document by Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means.

As majority staff director and general counsel for the committee, she worked with Camp, committee members and outside stakeholder groups on a proposal that could not please everyone.
