When Hare, Wynn, Newell & Newton secured a $25 million settlement from Merck & Co. over the company’s marketing of the painkiller Vioxx, the money went to fund Kentucky’s drug treatment programs. Managing partner D. Leon Ashford says that case, prosecuted under Kentucky’s consumer protection laws, reflects the firm’s focus on bringing value to clients.
The firm takes personal injury, class action, medical malpractice and products liability cases, and also represents state governments like Alaska and Montana in prosecuting False Claims Act cases.
