Napoli Bern Ripka Shkolnik has prevailed in some of the highest-profile personal-injury cases involving pharmaceuticals. In June 2013, for example, as co-lead counsel the firm helped secure a $100 million settlement for women who suffered blood clots after using the NuvaRing birth-control device. It also helped reach a $650 million settlement involving Pradaxa, a blood thinner that patients claimed caused serious bleeding.

This year, the firm reached a confidential settlement on behalf of passengers who survived the wreck of the Costa Concordia cruise ship in January 2012. The firm now represents victims and family members of the July 2012 shooting at an Aurora, Colo., movie theater.
