Same-sex marriage advocates and opponents will have to wait a little while longer to see what the U.S. Supreme Court will do with petitions urging it to finally resolve the nation’s constitutional debate.
The justices on Thursday took no action on the seven petitions from five states whose bans on same-sex marriage and recognition of those out-of-state marriages have been struck down by three federal circuit courts of appeals this year. (Read the court’s orders list here.)
