The Alabama Supreme Court has reversed a $900,000 products-liability verdict in favor of an Alabama man injured in a tractor rollover accident.
Plaintiff Randy Nichols was experienced in operating tractors, front-end loaders and bush-hog attachments, according to court records. However, a tractor made by Japanese-based Yanmar Diesel Engine Co. Ltd. rolled over when it encountered a slight drop-off on the side of a hill, causing the bush hog the tractor was pulling to run over Nichols, crushing his hip and leg and amputating his right arm.
