DeLaval Inc. is the dairy arm of Switzerland’s Tetra Laval Group, which through its Tetra Pak and Sidel affiliates also produces packaging. DeLaval was founded more than 130 years ago with the ­invention by Gustaf de Laval in Sweden of a machine to separate cream from milk. Today, it supplies half the milking equipment sold in the world.

DeLaval has 4,500 employees and operates in more than 100 markets. Annual sales for are roughly $1.25 billion. Headquarters are in Sweden and North American offices are in Bannockburn, Ill.
