Kathryn Ruemmler, former Obama White House counsel, has asked the president not to consider her to replace Attorney General Eric Holder Jr., a White House official said Friday.
Ruemmler, now a Latham & Watkins partner, phoned Obama on Wednesday over concerns that her work in the White House could expose the president politically and make for a difficult U.S. Senate confirmation process, The Associated Press additionally reported Friday.
