My colleague Thomas Moore doesn't like to talk about the Libby Zion case. Moore represented the Zion family in a wrongful death suit decided 20 years ago this month in a New York trial court. He won $375,000 for the child's pain and suffering, plus $1 for her wrongful death. The jury rejected Moore's request for punitive damages against one of the defendants, New York Hospital.

As a result, Moore — who has won more than 90 jury verdicts in excess of $1 million — considers it one of the greatest losses of his career.
