Federal prosecutors in Washington announced Friday they will not charge John Hinckley Jr. in connection to the shooting death of James Brady.
Brady, shot in the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan in March 1981, died in August at the age of 73. The authorities labeled his death a homicide.
