DAP Products Inc. is facing a stream of proposed class complaints from consumers who allege the company deceptively markets its XHoses garden hoses and that the product poses a potential safety risk.

The most recent challenge to DAP and two other companies was filed Dec. 24 in U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland by Michael Carton and plaintiffs in six states. They allege the product they bought bore little resemblance to the tough, lightweight hoses featured in TV ads as never twisting, tangling or kinking.
