Several years ago, I saw an Internet post selling a card that announced the 1933 retirement of Franklin D. Roosevelt from his law firm due to his imminent inauguration as president of the United States. I did not buy the card at the time, a decision I regretted for several years.

Fortunately, the card resurfaced recently on eBay. I snapped it up for about $25. Here is what the announcement said:
