A California federal district court has substantially reduced the number of claims against Southwest Airlines in a proposed class action alleging the airline’s “Early Bird” boarding program is fraudulent.
Judge Cormac Carney of the Central District of California ruled on Jan. 14 that most of the claims by lead plaintiffs Robert Zammetti and Michael Lowry are preempted by the Airline Deregulation Act. Read the order here.
