Nineteen magistrates, administrative law judges and lawyers from public and private practice have applied for the latest judicial vacancy in the District of Columbia Superior Court.

The D.C. Judicial Nomination Commission will pick three applicants to recommend to the White House to replace retiring Judge Herbert Dixon Jr. The commission is accepting public comments on the judges and lawyers who applied through Feb. 13. Dixon is set to step down in the spring.
