Budget boost: President Obama is asking Congress to boost the U.S. Department of Justice’s budget by 5 percent—to $28.7 billion. The Washington Post reports the FBI budget would dip 6.5 percent to $8.2 billion. The increase in the DOJ budget request was “fueled by the record collection of criminal and civil penalties from banks and other companies,” The Wall Street Journal reports.
