Judge Tanya Chutkan, a former partner at Boies, Schiller & Flexner, was formally sworn in to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Feb. 6.
Chutkan’s nomination faced no opposition in the U.S. Senate and she was confirmed in June. Cases that have landed in her court include: a subpoena fight involving testimony from local attorneys; the criminal case against a former law firm controller charged with stealing from the firm; and a civil lawsuit against the regional transit agency over a recent death on a subway train.
