The in-house lawyers of grocery company Supervalu Inc. just might have found a pot of gold in Rain­bow stores.

With the assistance of its 18-lawyer legal department, Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Supervalu in July closed a $65 million deal that allowed it and other Minnesota supermarket businesses to acquire 18 Rainbow grocery stores in the state from Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc. The other companies included Jerry’s Enterprises Inc., Haug Enterprises Inc., Lund Food Holdings Inc. and Radermacher Enterprises Inc.
