Recusing: The New York Times spotlights the recusals of SEC chair Mary Jo White, a former Debevoise lawyer who’s married to John White of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. From the Times: “In the nearly two years since Ms. White took over the agency, she has had to recuse herself from more than four dozen enforcement investigations, the interviews and records show, sometimes delaying settlements and opening the door, in at least one case, to a lighter punishment.” Mary Jo White’s Debevoise-based restrictions end in April.

Opposing: “More than 50 House Republicans are calling on the Senate Judiciary Committee to reject Loretta Lynch’s nomination for attorney general,” The Hill reports. The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled on Thursday to take up Lynch’s nomination. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, writes about his opposition here in POLITICO.
