In a closely watched antitrust case against Apple Inc., Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll helped secure a settlement that will net consumers $400 million if Apple loses on appeal — and $50 million even if Apple scores a partial victory.
The firm, as co-lead counsel with Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro, represents plaintiffs who accused Apple of conspiring with publishers to raise electronic-book prices. After a judge ruled in 2013 that Apple was liable, the company appealed. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit heard arguments in December.
