Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle registered with the federal government as a lobbyist for the first time in his career last week. Daschle will work on behalf of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office, Taiwan’s consulate in Washington, according to Foreign Agents Registration Act documents at the U.S. Department of Justice.
“It just occurred to me that we ought to take my interest in international affairs one step forward,” Daschle told the NLJ. “We’ll take it a step at a time.”
