Mohawk Industries Inc. ranks among the world’s largest flooring companies, producing carpet, stone, laminate, tile and hardwood surfaces.
Pergo, Quick-Step laminate, Karastan carpets and Columbia Flooring are among its brands. The Calhoun, Georgia, company reported 2014 sales of $7.8 billion and has about 32,500 employees worldwide, 23,000 in North America. Its most recent acquisition was Belgium’s IVC Group, for $1.2 billion. Mohawk agreed to settle a number of antitrust class actions last year, including a $125 million payout to settle price-fixing allegations involving polyurethane foam, but denied wrongdoing.
