Bowlmor AMF Corp. has given bowling a makeover for the 21st century, transforming drab alleys into sleek hotspots with gourmet fare and glow-in-the-dark lanes. Chief executive officer Tom Shannon in 1997 purchased the dilapidated Greenwich Village Bowlmor Lanes for $1.4 million. Today, Bowlmor AMF has 350 sites, thanks in part to acquisitions of AMF Bowling Worldwide Inc. and Brunswick Corp.’s bowling centers in the United States and Canada.

The company has 12,000 full-time equivalent employees and annual revenues of about $600 million.
