Snowden: The White House responded Tuesday to a petition to pardon Edward Snowden. Lisa Monaco, the president’s counterterrorism advisor, said Snowden’s “dangerous” decision to leak classified NSA information had severe national security consequences. “If he felt his actions were consistent with civil disobedience, then he should do what those who have taken issue with their own government do: Challenge it, speak out, engage in a constructive act of protest, and–importantly–accept the consequences of his actions.” Last month, the trailer for Oliver Stone’s upcoming movie about the life of Snowden was released. The movie, “Snowden,” is adapted from two books, “The Snowden Files: The Inside Story of the World’s Most Wanted Man” and “Time of the Octopus. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play Snowden.

Lawyer party: A mom threw her toddler a personal injury lawyer-themed birthday party for her 2-year-old son because of his obsession with New Orleans lawyer Morris Bart. Bart is a familiar face in Louisiana due to his well-known TV ads and catchy motto: “One Call, That’s All!” L’erin Dbora, a nurse from Prairieville, LA said that when Bart’s ads aren’t on TV, her son watches them on YouTube. For the party, she bought a cake with edible photo frosting displaying Bart in a suit. The child’s grandmother ordered him a toddler-size Morris Bart t-shirt. They even bought a cardboard cutout of the lawyer for the party, The Wall Street Journal reports.
