When Howard Langer sat down to settle an antitrust case with the National Hockey League, he knew exactly who he wanted in the room: Jeff Dubner.
“Whenever we have something really hard, and we’re looking at each other and scratching our heads, we say: ‘Call Dubner, and he’ll know what to do,’” said Langer, whose Philadelphia firm is lead counsel in lawsuits challenging TV contracts that limit fans from viewing certain baseball and hockey games. Dubner also is involved in antitrust litigation over hospitals, electronic books and animated movies. “I’m driven by a desire to get my cases right—right for my clients, right by the law, and right for the market at issue,” Dubner said. —Amanda Bronstad
