The House of Representatives Ethics Committee’s chairman and its ranking member said on Monday that they will not dismiss an investigation into Rep. Blake Farenthold, R-Texas, and will wait for the outcome of the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him before deciding whether he violated House rules or federal law.

Last December, former Farenthold communications director Lauren Greene sued the congressman’s office, with allegations of a hostile work environment, gender discrimination and retaliation arising out of her interactions with Farenthold and his chief of staff, Bob Haueter. Farenthold denied the allegations in February court filings.
