Massachusetts’ largest hospital has agreed to pay $2.3 million to settle federal allegations that it violated the Controlled Substances Act.
On Tuesday, Massachusetts General Hospital, which is Harvard Medical School’s largest teaching hospital, agreed to settle with the U.S. government in a deal that also calls for it to adhere to a stringent compliance plan. One provision of the plan mandates using a fingerprint identification system for automatic drug-dispensing machines.
