The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. (DTCC) is a financial markets clearinghouse enabling buyers and sellers of securities to safely make the exchanges in United States and global financial markets. “We clear and settle every 2 1/2 days an equivalent of the U.S. [gross domestic product]. For 2014, it amounts to $1.6 quadrillion in financial transactions,” said general counsel Larry Thompson.
A private corporation, New York City-based DTCC had revenues of around $1.4 billion in 2014 and employs about 5,000 people.
