The real estate team, which includes partners Michael Meyer and Jackie Park, represented Shanghai Greenland Group in the $150 million purchase of land in downtown Los Angeles known as Metropolis, and subsequent entitlement of the 6.3-acre site for a large mixed-used project. It also represented Greenland LA Metropolis Acquisition LLC in land-use and government-affairs matters for a project that includes the 350 room Indigo Hotel, three high-rise residential condominium towers. The team also represented The Macerich Co. in the $1.83 billion buyout of its partner Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board regarding five shopping centers. Finally, it represented Mirae Asset Global Investments in the acquisition of the Fairmont Orchid Hotel on the Big Island of Hawaii with a purchase price of $235 million.
