A Los Angeles Superior Court judge who was killed Monday while crossing the street had a long career in Washington, most recently as a partner at Hogan Lovells.

Daniel Brenner, whose death was confirmed by court officials, was hit by a car in West Los Angeles. Police said no crime was involved. Brenner, 64, served in the Chatsworth, California, courthouse, which is not near the scene of the accident.
