A pet-sitting company in Dallas is suing a couple over a bad Yelp review. Robert and Michelle Duchouquette left their two dogs and fish with a sitter through Prestigious Pets. Michelle later posted her one-star Yelp review, detailing problems she had with some of the company’s policies, including the inability to contact the sitter directly from the road. She also wrote that the couple was able to see their fish tank go cloudy on a video feed.

The company’s owner posted a point-by-point rebuttal to Michelle’s review and had an attorney send them cease-and-desist letter. Then came the lawsuit, seeking more than $6,700 in damages for violation of a nondisparagement clause in the contract. In an email sent to KTVT-TV, Prestigious Pets’ owner said, “We are honest people seeking protection from dishonest individuals, not other honest ones.” — Richard Binder
