The executive vice chairman of the Alibaba Group Services Ltd.—often referred to as the Chinese Amazon—has donated $30 million to Yale Law School, his alma mater.
The funds given by Joseph Tsai in honor of his father, also a Yale law alum, will bolster Yale’s China Center, which aims to advance legal reform within China and improve relations between China and the United States. The center, founded in 1999, is one of just a handful of centers and institutes dedicated specifically to China at U.S. law schools.
