DHC USA Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of DHC Corp., a Japanese skin care company. DHC — an acronym of “Daigaku Honyaku Center” — began in 1972 as a translation company but shifted in 1980 to making cosmetics using Spanish olive oil.

The privately held company opened its United States offices in San Francisco in 1995. It also operates a call and fulfillment center in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Of the company’s 85 employees in the U.S., 35 are based in San Francisco. DHC has subsidiaries around the world and is expanding into Europe.
