The American Beverage Association is the trade group of the nonalcoholic beverage industry, representing the interests of soft-drink companies, bottled-water producers and makers of energy and sports drinks and teas.
Based in Washington, the association monitors the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s regulatory actions on labeling and contents and state legislation, spending $1.38 million on lobbying in 2015, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The association dates back to 1919.
