There is a serious mental health crisis in the legal profession and it begins in America’s law schools.
The results of the survey of lawyers conducted in 2014 and 2015 by the American Bar Association’s Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation are inescapable: 21 percent are problem drinkers, 28 percent struggle with depression, and 11.5 percent report suicidal thoughts.
