John Delony doesn’t mince words when new students arrive at Texas Tech University School of Law each fall.

“I tell them at orientation, ‘If you have a demon you haven’t dealt with, law school will find it,’ ” said Delony, associate dean for student life. “ We have a real ‘Come to Jesus’ meeting about, ‘This is about to be hard, and some of you aren’t prepared. There are services and support here for you. Be sure you’re taking care of each other.’ “
