Former GOP Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich hasn’t ruled out the possibility of joining Donald Trump’s presumptive Republican presidential ticket, but he is sure about one thing: There is no way Merrick Garland will be confirmed before November.
Speaking at an event at the Dentons Chicago office on Thursday, Gingrich said he would expect anyone who joined Trump’s ticket to make a major campaign issue out of the U.S. Supreme Court vacancy left by Justice Antonin Scalia’s death.
