Hogan Lovells on Monday became the first of Washington, D.C.’s traditional “Big Four” law firms to announce that it will increase its base associate salaries to $180,000, matching rates set by several major firms this month.

The class of 2015 will get an additional $20,000 starting July 1, the firm said in a memo to its U.S. associates on Monday. Class of 2008 associates will see a bump of $35,000. In major markets like Washington and New York, that gives first-years a $180,000 base.
