The U.S. Justice Department on Thursday sued to block the proposed $37 billion merger between Aetna Inc. and Humana Inc. Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the District of Columbia joined in the complaint.
The government alleged the merger “would lead to higher health insurance prices, reduced benefits, less innovation, and worse service for over a million Americans.”
