No Midwestern city has been through the wringer like Detroit in recent years. But as the Motor City approaches two years since exiting bankruptcy, top lawyers there say they feel good about the city’s prospects.

“I’m ridiculously optimistic,” said Timothy Melton, the partner-in-charge of Jones Day’s newly opened Detroit office. “The market is substantially better than it was three years ago.”
