Whistleblower plaintiffs firm Phillips & Cohen announced Tuesday that Sean McKessy, the former chief of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Whistleblower Office, is joining the firm as a partner in Washington, D.C.

The “revolving door” from government to private practice rarely spins this way. More often, top government prosecutors and lawyers move to the opposite side of the table and join firms that primarily represent corporations and other enforcement targets.
