Take a look at our latest list of best-paid general counsel. You’ve probably seen quite a few of these names before. There’s Gerson Zweifach from Twenty-first Century Fox Inc., John Finley of New York-based The Blackstone Group L.P. and J. Michael Luttig of The Boeing Co. These general counsel, who are ranked by cash compensation, which includes salary, bonuses and nonequity compensation, took home some hefty chunks of change.

Zweifach, who moved to No. 3 in 2015 from No. 4 in 2014, raked in a base salary of $3 million — the best base salary in the rankings. He also earned a $1 million bonus and $2,325,000 in nonequity compensation (which basically amounts to a bonus, but it’s a bonus for a reason). All of this brought his total take-home cash amount to $6,325,000. But that’s not all. On top of the cash, Zweifach’s compensation package also included $2,256,697 in stock awards.
