A man in Portland, Maine, was arrested for obstructing traffic after he crossed three roads very slowly dressed as a tree. Why would anyone do such a thing? Because he was pining to be closer to nature. No, really.

“I feel a close kinship with trees,” Asher Woodworth told BBC News, revealing that his idea to don the needles stemmed from an intense meditation he had one day. His outfit was constructed using parts of several types of trees, and he required a friend’s help to get the costume on. He aimed to cross five roads, but keeping traffic from moving was not oak-ay with the local police, who put him in jail for six hours before releasing him later in the evening.
