With one of the most contentious presidential campaign cycles in modern history nearing its conclusion, a slew of lawsuits challenging voting laws and practices are being fought across the country, in some cases right up until Election Day.
Most of the court challenges focus on voters’ ability to effectively select their candidate. That includes legal fights over obstacles to voter registration and restrictions on the delivery of ballots as well as fears of voter intimidation at the polls. Then there’s the burning question that’s been taken up by at least three courts in recent weeks: Can I take a selfie with my ballot?
