President-elect Donald Trump made “law and order” a central part of his campaign, and in choosing Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions for U.S. attorney general, he’ll get just that, according to former Justice Department officials and lawyers familiar with Sessions’ record as a prosecutor and politician.
The choice of Sessions on Friday also seemed to allay concerns among Republicans that Trump, who ran as a political outsider, would stray beyond the network of Justice Department alumni and Washington lawyers who traditionally fill high-level positions.
