If Jones Day partner Don McGahn’s legal advice is as solid as his cover of Guns & Roses’ “Sweet Child O’Mine,” then President-elect Donald Trump made a good decision in choosing his White House counsel. McGahn, who served as Trump’s campaign lawyer and was recently selected for the White House role, plays guitar and keyboards in a cover band called Scott’s New Band. Or at least he did: McGahn and the rest of the band played their last show at a small venue in Philadelphia, where they played a set of classic rock favorites including Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’” and AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”

After he hangs up his axe, McGahn will be chief legal adviser to the executive branch and can be expected to provide the president with guidance on a wide range of issues, from waterboarding and imposing tariffs to whom Trump should nominate to the U.S. Supreme Court. — Max Mitchell
