Let’s see. How can I write a column about why less is better without bloviating and going on and on and on just so I can demonstrate that I have thought about every conceivable angle, am clever and creative and am the smartest guy in the room? Hmm. This may be harder than I thought.

I could construct this entire column out of witty comments about the importance of brevity. “Brevity is the soul of wit” — Hamlet. “Be sincere, be brief, be seated” — Franklin D. Roosevelt. “The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending, and to have the two as close together as possible.” — George Burns.
