Jones Day’s appellate team made a whopping eight arguments in the U.S. Supreme Court in calendar year 2016, racking up impressive victories in high-impact cases and ending the year with one of the firm’s own partners preparing to head the Trump White House counsel office.

Making it a standout year was not just the number of arguments — more than in prior years — but eight arguments by five different lawyers, noted Beth Heifetz, head of the issues and appeals practice. “It really speaks to the depth of our bench that we have so many tremendously able Supreme Court advocates,” she said.
